Two Seasons Talking Trees – Kingston Edition – reader Jo Ann Richards

Driven by her passion for missions, holistic worship and culturally relevant liturgy, Jo-Ann Richards – Jamaican teacher, singer/songwriter, worship leader, missionary and author – is commissioned to “tell the whole world to sing a new song unto the Lord!” (Isaiah 42:10, CEV) Burkina Faso, Peru and Panama are some of the places she has visited in fulfilling her mission.

Jo-Ann, author of Godincidences! Adventuring with an awesomely Sovereign, sovereignly Awesome God, is founding director of CREW 40:4, a non-profit organization established to promote love and unity in Christ through culturally relevant expressions of worship. She is also head of the Music and Media Department at the Jamaica Theological Seminary. She holds a MA in Ethnomusicology from Bethel University in Minnesota and a BA in Theology from the Jamaica Theological Seminary.

Jo-Ann recently released her second album, Kom Mek Wi Worship! It is a collection of twelve culturally relevant Scripture-based songs for the Jamaican church that has been powerfully impacting a wide cross-section of Jamaicans and non-Jamaicans at home and abroad.
