Monique Morrison is a lecturer in English, Communications and Critical Thinking. She has been an un-published short-story writer since her high school years. She began hearing her poetic voices in about 2010 and, encouraged by contemporary poet and comedian Michael Abrahams, started reading poems for audiences.
She has read for audiences at the Jamaica Poetry Society and Asante Adonai Literary Lyme, Kingston Pon di River Festival and the Independent Voyces Literary Festival.
She has also been invited to read on Nationwide Radio and for groups of Literature students studying her poems. Monique considers Seh Sup’m -a new talent forum – as her poetic home as that is where she first read for a public audience and where she was first asked to present as a featured poet.
