Mandisa M. Parnell was born in the parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica, and was raised in the historic community of August Town. She has been writing stories since the tender age of 10. Reading is her second passion and she is also a closet artist. A
A graduate of Ardenne High School, she is currently enrolled at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, where she is reading for a bachelor’s degree in English.
She has twice entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC) Creative Writing Competition, earning a Merit Award in 2013 and a Silver Award in July 2014. Her first novel is the romance fiction, The boy next door.
